Our Story

It began at a bedside, not in a boardroom.

Daniel Remiszewski started his healthcare career as a CNA. From high school all the way through college, he worked as a live-in and per diem CNA caring for Michael, and learned first-hand how much good training shapes the way a caregiver treats people.

He went on to earn his Master's in Healthcare Administration from the University of New Haven while working within the Stamford Health Medical Group, and taught American Heart Association CPR courses across Connecticut. Along the way he saw how few places offered practical, affordable medical training.

In 2018 he opened Northeast Medical Institute in Stamford, with one goal: teach every student to care for patients with the same respect he learned at Michael's bedside.

“I learned what good care looks like as a CNA. Every course we teach is built so our students can give that same care from their first day on the job.”Daniel Remiszewski, Owner & School Director

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Northeast Medical Institute state-approved?

Yes. Northeast Medical Institute is approved by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education (OHE), and our hybrid programs are on the WIOA Eligible Training Provider List.

Are classes online or in person?

Our programs are hybrid. You complete coursework online, then attend hands-on labs and clinicals at a campus. CNA theory takes about 2 weeks and is self-paced.

How big are the classes?

CNA classes are capped at 12 students (8 at our Stamford campus), so every student gets hands-on time with an instructor.

Can I use WIOA funding?

Many students qualify. Our hybrid CNA, Phlebotomy, Patient Care Technician and Pharmacy Technician programs are WIOA-eligible. Contact us and we will help you check.

Do I need a high school diploma?

It depends on the program. Contact us and we will confirm the admission requirements for the program you are interested in.
